As part of this summer's Concert in the Park series, the Czech Heritage Foundation will be sponsoring a performance by the the Czech Plus Band on Friday, August 24. The band features local musicians playing Czech and Slovak polka. The concert will be held from 7:00 - 8:30pm at the Kosek Bandstand on 16th Ave. in Czech Village. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, and don't forget your dancing shoes! If it is too hot (officially over 90°) or raining, the performance will be canceled with advance notice on local media.
Czech Royalty at NCSML Grand Opening
This weekend on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 members of the Czech Heritage Foundation will celebrate the grand opening of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids, IA. Royalty will be participating in events throughout the weekend. Annual Potluck Picnic
Join us at the Czech Heritage Foundation's annual potluck picnic on Tuesday, August 14 at 6:00pm. This year, this picnic will be held at the newly renovated National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Cedar Rapids. Look for us on the Naxera Terrace. In the case of rain, the event will move indoors to the Mitvalsky Room.Meat, table service, and drinks will be provided by the Czech Heritage Foundation. Guests are asked to bring a dish to share. Cultural Diversity Festival
Come visit our booth at the University of Iowa's Cultural Diversity Festival on March 31. The festival is one of the largest events on the University's campus, drawing nearly 5,000 people each year. Cultures from around the world are represented by booths, classes, and performances. This year, the Czech Heritage Foundation will have an educational display, organization publications, and Czech food and pastries.
