Pageant Sponsorship
The Miss Czech-Slovak Iowa Pageant is a program of the Czech Heritage Foundation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Young women aged 16 to 26 have an opportunity to learn about the history of their ancestors’ homeland and their personal genealogy. By doing cultural heritage research, they discover the rich and diverse traditions of their ancestors. They are able to make connections to their cultural history, places, language, and environment; building their self-esteem and pride for their heritage. This program allows them to present their knowledge in a pageant format. These young women compete in the following areas: private interview, talent, kroj modeling, and oratory. They represent their heritage by attending a variety of events in their community sponsored by non-profit organizations and community businesses during their reign.
The Miss Czech-Slovak Iowa pageant exists because of the support and generosity of Czech Heritage Foundation supporters as well as businesses, organizations, and individuals/patrons in the community. Your donation or sponsorship will enable our organization to host an ethnic pageant that will award cash and gifts to each contestant representing their Czech-Slovak heritage, as well as sponsor their travels across the state. This colorful event showcasing the contestants’ knowledge and pride in their ancestry and culture stems from donations and sponsorship.
